Loneliness

My soul sighs and even languishes after the courts of the Lord. My whole being utters cries of joy to the living God. Psalm 84: 3

Loneliness is one of the biggest problems people face today. This is one of the leading causes of suicide - this is the third leading cause of murder among students in the United States. People feel different types of loneliness. One of the most common is the loneliness of loneliness. Or there is the loneliness of suffering. Many people experience loneliness in society, where there is the loneliness of grief, guilt and judgment.

We all sometimes feel lonely towards God. Someone called this cosmic solitude. We do not know what it is. It makes us restless. You see, man was made for God ; and without God he is alone. But Jesus knocks on the door of our heart saying : "I want to come in. Let me in." He does not make his way through this door. We must open it and invite it in ; when we do, he goes in to live forever and we are never alone again.

Prayer for the day

Lord Jesus, I remember the agony of my days without you. Lead me to the lonely people who need to live the joy of your company.
