Lord, you are sufficient for me

"No temptation has come to you that has not been human, and God, who is faithful, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength ; but with temptation he will also prepare the way out, that you may endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Paul writes to the Corinthians and he reassures them : "Are you about to fall ? Do you feel that you can not continue ? Well, be encouraged, because I have a word for you. Many people have gone through the same temptations as those you experience, but they have not been defeated !" Why ? Because God is faithful and He prepares the way out.

God is faithful ! Perhaps those around you are not faithful; in fact, I myself can not be faithful by my own strength. But Jesus lives in us and the justice of God is at work in our life. When we meet Jesus, the seed of God lives in us. The blood of the Lamb sacrificed to the cross energizes us and our body, our thoughts, our heart and our soul are transformed. Jesus captures our heart and transforms us into a new creation.

God is preparing the way out ! Our society offers many ways to get out of it, but the Word of God says that Jesus is the only way out. The Lord will provide for it ! Remember Abraham when he went to the mountain to offer his son a sacrifice. He went with his own strength but God stopped him : "Not your own flesh, Abraham. It is I who will provide the sacrifice" (see Genesis 22: 12-13).

No matter what you face today, you can trust God : He is preparing a way for you - a way out. Look up at Him and confess : "Lord, you are enough. By your grace, I can overcome all the temptations in my life : depression, fear, anger, lust and the power of darkness that rises against me."
