Loser or winner ?

Life is made up of sometimes very complex events. The story of Joseph, chapters 37 to 50 of the book of Genesis, shows us that what matters in these situations is not our wisdom or our determination, but the faithfulness of God who protects and leads those who trust him.

Young, coming from a wealthy family, he was sold as a slave to be taken to a foreign country because of the jealousy of his brothers. Over time he succeeds in winning the favor of his master. But his wife wanted to bribe him. Defending himself, he was accused of attempted rape on her, and he ended up in jail. There, an unexpected event allowed him to have close contact with a ruler of that country. His wisdom, his intelligence and his love for God allowed him to propose unusual solutions to get this country out of economic difficulties. By these facts he became prime minister of the country !

He was a "loser", condemned without hope, and his situation was deteriorating rather than improving. How many live like this, without hope, without joy, without a future !

His fidelity in God paid off : from “losing”, he became a winner ! Not only did he win, but he made others win ; not only did he find wealth, but he brought wealth to his country !
