Love before judging

Search the Scriptures

"My brethren, if any of you has strayed from the truth, and another brings him back, let him know that whoever brings a sinner back from the way in which he strayed will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins." James 5.19.20

To condemn, to reject the culprit, is not what he asks of us. God desires the guilty to repent and be saved.

Loving before judging is exactly how God treats us !

God loved us even before we loved him.

What happened then ?

His love has changed our lives. We asked him for forgiveness for our faults and he saved us. By his love we have been touched, and a supernatural work has been wrought in us by the Holy Spirit.

Love does not excuse sin, but seeks the sinner's salvation. This is what the prophet Nathan expected when he spoke to David. This is also what Jesus sought in his dialogue with Peter after his denial. Our attitude should not be to judge the person, but to love him and speak to him to lead him to turn to God. Thus, by this action, we can bring her back to the way of God.

Not only should we pray, love and accompany those who have sinned to repentance, but if they have committed condemnable acts on minors, we should tell them to submit to justice, because it is our responsibility to report it. If the protection of minors remains an absolute priority, we can tell the guilty that repentance remains the only way to obtain divine forgiveness.

Listen the voice of God

We are sometimes quicker to judge than to love. Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say to us today.

Prayer is talking to God in confidence, like with your closest friend. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I realize that I often have more abilities to judge the other than to love him. I sincerely ask your forgiveness. Come and renew my too hard heart, Lord, because I truly desire to love others as you love me, no matter what they have said or done."

Praise God

If you feel like you haven't made progress in free love, take a quick step back, and you'll see that even though you haven't reached the goal yet, your heart is more tender today. and your character softer than a few months or a few years back. Thank the Lord for his deep work in your life !

Act today

When you feel the tension rising in you over someone's behavior, purse your lips and be silent. Then inwardly tell the Lord how much you love him and how much you want to be a channel of love for this person. Your attitude will change completely ; and you will be amazed and give glory to the Lord !

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord for gradually transforming me into your image ! To you be the kingdom, the power and all the glory, amen !"
