Love goes beyond

"Love covers everything : it suffers, endures and forgives, it knows how to overcome the mistakes of others, to love is to trust the other and to wait for the best of him is to hope without weakening, Without ever giving up. It means knowing how to wear everything, how to overcome everything." 1 Corinthians 13: 7

The story is that of a married couple who seemed very much in love with each other. One day, the condition of the charming wife required surgery in the face. After having examined all the possibilities and considered all the consequences, the couple resolved to the operation. It went perfectly.

Love is not the feeling one receives from someone! It's the feeling we give him !

After the operation, the young woman's face remained bandaged for several days. But during this period the doctor informed him that a complication had arisen.

It was a tumor that could only be removed by severing a nerve from the face.

This new operation was to disfigure it definitively. One side of her mouth was going to be literally pulled down. Clearly, it would not be as beautiful as it had been.

Naturally, she was overwhelmed. Then she worried about whether her husband would remain attached to her. Would he still love her ? The day came to remove the bandages. Her doctor's safe voice had only partially prepared her for what was to happen.

When she saw the deformed mouth in the mirror, she began to cry and watched anxiously for her husband's reaction. It was then that she knew why she was so grateful and that she would never have to doubt her love.

His reaction was disarmingly simple. He took her in his arms and said : "It gives you a pretty nice look, I like it."

Action for Today

You see, love is not the feeling one receives from someone! It's the feeling we give him ! This young husband had certainly been attracted romantically by his wife. But his love went far beyond appearance. He had made her his wife to take care of her and love her. Nothing could change that. Let us also learn to truly love in deeds and words.
