Love, the essence of faith

We constantly express our gratitude to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you. Indeed, we have been informed of your faith in Jesus Christ and the love you have for all the saints... Colossians 1:3-4

Imagine for a moment that someone tries to drive a car without gas. He opens the door, sits down and turns the key, but nothing happens. Frustrated, he gets out of the car claiming that the car is not working. However, the car works ; the problem is that there is no fuel to start it. Likewise, faith does not work without love.

Faith works when we first realize how much God loves us. God's love for us is unconditional and does not depend on our performance.

Understanding and receiving God's love enables us to walk in love with others. We can spend hours praising God and even read His Word all day, if we don't walk in love toward our neighbor it will keep our faith from working to its fullest capacity.

Walking in love means you put aside what your flesh wants to do and focus more on others than on yourself.

Marriages break up when two faith-filled people refuse to walk in love toward each other and are instead completely focused on their own needs and desires.

God gave you his love, not for you to keep it selfishly, but to share it with those around you.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Love is the very essence of faith. Let God fill you with his love now.

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, if I don't have Love, I am nothing. Teach me to love as you love and to sow love wherever I go. Amen."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me first. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
