Love thy neighbor
Searching the Scriptures
You will love your neighbor as yourself. Mark 12:31
Have you ever met bitter people who get angry about a yes or a no? When you talk to them, you get the distinct impression that they hate the whole world because they use phrases like : "that one, I don't like him", "this coworker, I can't stand him anymore". Unfortunately, this attitude is toxic to them and scares people away.
However, it is important to realize that God loves imperfect people. Didn't the apostle Paul say in 1 Corinthians 15.9 : "I am the least of the apostles and am not worthy to be called an apostle because I have persecuted the Church of God" ?
What about your love ? Do you only love people who are like you, who match your values, or do you choose to love them as they are by accepting their flaws ?
Don't expect other people to be perfect in order to love them. Love them as they are and they will love us as we are.
Listen to the voice of God
Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Is there someone around you that you find it hard to like ? Ask God to be able to watch and love this person as he does.
Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and He can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, help me to love my neighbor as he is and not to judge. I want to love unconditionally as you love me."
Praise God
To praise God is to show Him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Lord, thank you for loving me as I am. Thine are the reign, the power and the glory forever. So be it !"
