Move, move !

2 Kings 7.3 – There were four lepers at the entrance to the city. They said to each other : “Why stay here waiting for death ?".

I would like to continue today to speak of these four lepers. They were in a desperate situation, without food, unable to find help either inside the city or by staying there, their only small chance was to brave the fear by going to the camp. enemy !

My point this morning is thi s: desperate situations are a powerful engine for living the miracle of God. Not only were our four “thugs” the first to experience the miracle, but they were the instruments for all the people to come out of starvation. All of this was the result of a determination to see things move !

My wife told you recently that God is a God of movement. Paul tells us, "For in him we have life, movement, and being" (Acts 17:28). Unfortunately, often we have to go through uncomfortable, unpleasant, even desperate situations for us to decide to move. Trust is a state and often a peaceful expectation but faith is always an action ! Hebrews 11 shows us many of these witnesses to faith who acted. To remain static in our relationship with God is ultimately to wait for “death”, even if it comes slowly.

My beloved, let us not wait for situations to deteriorate in order to advance ever further, ever higher. And if we are in a desperate situation, like our four friends, it is time to reflect, to assess the situation, and to take action even if we have to brave our fears. The Bible is full of examples where people decided to move by saying : “I will go !". It's time to get up and get back on the path to live YOUR miracle, a miracle that will extend to many others. And if you are in the situation of the prodigal son, make up your mind by saying : “I will go to my Father !".

May the Lord give you to arise and see his glory !
