My child, you are useful to me !

I pray to you for my child whom I fathered being in chains, Onesimus, who was once useless to you, but who is now useful to you and to me. Philemon 1.10-11

"Useless" ! It is certain that Onesime must have entertained this thought concerning him. He, a slave, destined to serve all his life! So, as if to ward off fate, he had decided to run away from his master's house with the hope of finding a better life. He was not mistaken because, on his way, he met Paul, the apostle of grace who was going to share the Gospel with him and lead him to understand how useful he could be to God.

One day, at church, my pastor gave me a responsibility. For me, who for years had thought I was someone useless, it was simply marvelous, because, beyond man, the voice of God spoke to my heart and said to me : "My child , you are useful to me !"

The vagaries of life may have aroused feelings in you that lead you to believe that you are of no use to anyone. You have been crushed and pushed aside and left to assume that you are worthless. Know that you are not the only one to have such reasoning.

Ask the question of the Christians in your assembly, and you will see that all of them have decided not to remain prisoners of the consequences of their past: they have believed in the call of God and have become useful in his service. God wants to use you as you are! Make the decision to enter his service.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. What mission does God entrust to you today ?

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, you do not look at what strikes the eye, but you look at the heart. I want to serve you, use me to build your kingdom ! Amen."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Jesus, the world has considered you insignificant. Yet you have become its Savior. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
