Need the other !

1 Kings 5.6 - My servants shall be with yours, and I will pay you the wages of your servants as you have appointed ; for you know that there is no one among us who understands how to cut wood like the Sidonians.

I invite you to immerse us in the context of this story. Hiram, the king of Tire, had sent a delegation of his servants to King Solomon to “congratulate” him on his appointment as king. Hiram had always loved Solomon's father, King David. Solomon took the opportunity to share his vision of building a house for the Lord and his need for help. King Hiram greeted this request for partnership with great joy.

I would like to take some thoughts from this story. The first is that God can make connections that will allow vision to develop. A vision only very rarely results in realization by the hands of the visionary alone. Let us be attentive because the Lord will make us cross the path of people who will be sent by him. It requires that we are ready to share the vision that burns in our hearts as it will certainly resonate with someone, and that we are open to others.

The second is knowing how to recognize your limits. There were quality men in Israel, but the loggers... nothing to do with the Sidonians, experts in the field. It is not easy to leave “his” place in a field for someone who is more experienced than us and who has been anointed for it. It is the path of humility, essential for growth.

My beloved, we live in a time when the Church has a cruel need to find the way of the partnership of the ministries. With a few exceptions, there is enormous spiritual poverty in the Francophonie. Let us build together the “house of God”, each with his specificity, his experience, his charisma and his anointing. Let's see further, let's see bigger, let's see more miraculous... "Widen the space of your tent ; spread the covers of your home : Don't hold back ! Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes (Isaiah 54.2) !".

Good reflection !
