Never give up !
Search the Scriptures
I do not attach any importance to it and I do not consider my life as precious, provided that I accomplish with joy my race and the ministry that the Lord Jesus entrusted to me : to announce the good news of the grace of God. Acts 20.24
To live your best life, you need these two things : purpose and tenacity. God will help you develop them.
First, the goal. On the monument dedicated to Jack London, the author of White Fang, appear these words :
"I'd rather be ashes than dust. I'd rather my spark burn out in a bright flame than be smothered in dry rot. I'd rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me glowing with magnificent incandescence , rather than being a dormant, permanent planet. The function of human beings is to live, not to exist. I will not waste my days trying to prolong them. I will use my time."
To make a difference in this world, you must discover the mission that God has entrusted to you and commit yourself fully to it, like Paul. He wrote :
"I do not attach any importance to it and I do not consider my life precious, provided that I fulfill with joy my race and the ministry that the Lord Jesus has entrusted to me : to announce the good news of the grace of God".
Second, tenacity. Winston Churchill repeated his fourth grade twice because he had trouble in English. Yet his speeches during the Second World War inspired and galvanized Britain to fight and win despite the odds. At Oxford University, he gave the shortest speech in history, just six words. "Never give up ! Never give up !"
These words are the very essence of tenacity to achieve a goal.
Listen the voice of God
Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. What mission does God entrust to you in this season of your life ?
Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, like Paul, I want to run my course with joy and reach the goal. Teach me never to give up and to always keep my eyes fixed on you. Amen."
Praise God
To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Lord, thank you for being at the beginning and the end of all things. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
