Never stop grow !
“I am running toward the goal to win the prize for God's heavenly calling in Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3.14
Paul wrote : “I don't feel that I have got hold of it myself yet, but I do one thing : forgetting what is behind and moving towards what is in front, I run towards the goal to win the prize of. the heavenly call of God in Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:13-14). When a spiritual leader testifies of the victories they have achieved, it can inspire and encourage us. But sometimes the struggles he faces on his march to victory can help us more in our own journey. In one of his books John Maxwell frankly reveals the difficulties he had to face and the weaknesses he had to overcome during his life : “I lack patience, realism, in the time that I will need to complete this or that task. I tend to underestimate the difficulty of most of these tasks. I don't like to waste my time and effort dealing with the emotional issues of the people who work with me ! I often overestimate the ability of others to accomplish a specific task. I expect too much from others ! I am always on the alert to share my responsibilities with others. I'm always looking for multiple solutions, which must drive most of my staff crazy ! I hate rules and restrictions. I choose my priorities very quickly and I expect everyone to do the same. I deal with issues without too much procrastination and I want to go for it, even when those around me are not yet ready to move forward." We all struggle with certain weaknesses that we find difficult to cope with. Someone has said that the mistake of youth is to believe that intelligence can substitute for experience, while the mistake of mature people is to believe that experience can substitute for intelligence. Whether we are young or middle-aged, we must never stop grow. We should always be happy with what we have, but never with what we have become. In what areas do you need to make progress ? Because you won't do any, until you recognize that you are treading water today, and that you need to put in the greater efforts and persevere in those efforts !
