No life without worries

"You have tribulation in the world ; But have courage, I have overcome the world." John 16: 23

He would sweetly illuminate the new convert who thinks he can lead a life devoid of any problem since he is a child of God ! He would also lull himself with gentle illusions if he thought that all his problems he would solve with his own strength and that he would easily put an end to all his difficulties! Shortly before going to Gethsemane and then to the torture, Jesus warned his disciples that they would have tribulation (1st part of the verse of the day). And what was true in Jesus' time is also true in the 21st century ! But he added a magnificent encouragement (2nd part of the verse of the day) for the disciples and for the actual believers too !

This new convert will come into contact with believers who already have some experience of walking with the Master ; These elders in the faith will be able to reassure him and guide him to him who will help him to triumph over all his trials ; They will be able to bring to him many testimonies of difficult circumstances that they crossed with the support of God.

Joshua had served Moise during the 40 years of crossing the desert. At the moment when the old guide Moses is gathered by God, Joshua is at the head of the people to take him to conquer the promised land. There is something to be worried about this heavy task ! It will not be easy, there will be fighting, but God says to him, "Do not be terrified, and be not afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." ). What God has done at this distant time for his people, he also does today for his people.

So no illusion ... but no worry either ! The believer is called to cross all difficulties by relying on God. It is in the midst of the darkness of tribulation that it shines most intensely! Salvation is in intimacy with the Lord : "Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, and delighteth with his commandments. ... He shall not be afraid of a bad news ; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord "(Ps 112: 1, 7).

"I will expect your name, for it is good before your saints" (Psalm 52: 9).
