No, thank you !

Thursday January 13, 2022

Do you despise the riches of his goodness, patience and long-suffering, not recognizing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance ? Romans 2. 4

As he was still far away, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, he ran to throw himself on his neck and kissed him. Luke 15. 20

No, thank you !

- A biblical calendar ! Ah, thank you, my wife is very ill ; it will change his mind. Me, that does not concern me.

A few weeks later, it was at her husband's funeral that I had the opportunity to talk to her about her reading of the calendar. Struck down by a stroke, could he have had an exchange with God ?

Oh, this gentleman is not the only one to answer thus. These solemn facts question us. To postpone until later the question of the fate of our soul after the death of the body, is this reasonable ? Neglect or culpable indifference ?

The message of the Bible wants to awaken us to what is important in life and even urgent : "Now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6.2). God's voice is heard through the Bible. This calendar wants to convey the message.

God is love. He wants to speak to everyone's heart. Let's listen to his voice, in an honest attitude. Let us let ourselves be touched by his grace, like the light that comes to us at sunrise and floods us.

Wounded by life ? God wants to heal your wounds and comfort you. He is "the God of all comfort". He knows all of your bitterness and your worries, he says to you : "Come to me".

Have you turned your back on God ? He is waiting for you, watching for the moment when you return to him.

To a slight "No, thank you !" can follow a sincere : "Thank you, Lord Jesus"... if you come to him as you are. His peace, then will fill your heart. Jesus will be with you every day, and forever.
