No time to live ?

Redeem the time, for the days are evil. Ephesians 5.16

Our grandson Axel explains his future to his mother, as he sees it from the height of his eight years :

"When I'm a footballer, I won't have time to take care of my wife ! I will bring it back to you !"

Don't worry, for Axel, the fairer sex of his age is of little interest, that will change. But his reflection challenges us in more ways than one...

In the beginning, most husbands were fiery fiancés, who invested all their time in their beloved ! Nothing was too far, nothing was too painful to spend time with her ! But what about today ? Do we always give our spouse this priority time of intimacy, in the midst of all our legitimate occupations ?

It's so precious, and myself, I have to constantly readjust myself. For example, is it necessary for my wife to only see me from behind, at the computer (Even if it is to write a text for Live Today !), during a free evening ?

And what about the time spent getting to know our Lord better, in the Word of God and through prayer ? No time ? A busy neighbor told me : "I won't even have time to die !"

Serious delusion ! He won't have a choice and... neither will you ! Whoever neglects this essential dimension of his life does not realize what he is losing : in this life and in eternity ! So take the time to... live with your Lord !
