No work, no food !

2 Thessalonians 3.10 – If anyone does not want to work, he must not eat either.

There is an attitude in the Christian world that goes against this saying. In this thought, we do not want to talk about those who want to work but who are victims of the current conjuncture and who, for one reason or another, cannot find enough to support themselves and their families. No, we mean those who cling to a dream, often that of serving God full time, and fail to seize the opportunities that are within their reach.

When we talk about dreams, we often think of Joseph, who ended up Prime Minister of Egypt with a position of capital importance ! We forget, unfortunately, too often his journey and all the efforts that preceded his arrival at the top. He did his slave work so well that he became steward of Potiphar's house. Then, imprisoned unjustly, he again distinguished himself to the point of becoming the steward of this same prison. What a demonstration of adaptation to the situation !

Without questioning everyone's "spiritual" dream, we want to encourage reflection so that dramatic situations can be unblocked. It is in our human nature to pursue dreams, to passively wait for the unexpected and to attribute to an attitude of faith our propensity to receive “all cooked”. There is a big difference between passive waiting and a position of trust in God !

If you have a dream from God, it will come true for sure, but God works in stages. He will first entrust you with small things and if your faithfulness is tested, He will entrust you with greater things. The greatest prophetic promises could have been pronounced on your life, it does not change the fact that God awaits you in faithfulness to the little things, and one of these little things is to take your place as a citizen, husband and worker.

If you are in the case of waiting for the fulfillment of his promise for you, we advise you beloved to do whatever your hand finds to do (Ecclesiastes 9.10) and not to waste your time in passive waiting. You will see that the Lord will place possibilities within your reach. Get out of the thought of the assistantship ! God will do but He will never do it for you. He will dispense the manna, but you will have to come out of your tent and make the effort to go and collect it. And when God sees your faithfulness, your efforts, your courage and your determination, He will entrust you with more and then much more. God is ready to invest in you, but will He find a faithful steward ?
