Objections inadmissible

"My power is fulfilled in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12. 9

No child of God is left on the earth to remain idle with respect to his Father. Indeed, God gives everyone at least one service to perform for him. Nobody can say he has not received it. Yet must we discern it ... and accomplish it ! We are sometimes reluctant to do what God asks of us ; we put in front of incapacity, incompetence, shyness ... but let us not forget that "our capacity comes from God" (2 Corinthians 3, 5). These objections are therefore inadmissible !

Everyone is reassured, he is not the first in this case ; even eminent servants of God formulated such objections one day ! "Ah, Lord, I am not an eloquent man ... for my mouth is heavy and my tongue heavy" (Exodus 4:10). It is Moise who expresses this way ... and he was the brilliant driver that we know! And Gideon : "My thousand is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house" (Jug 6: 15) ... yet he was a great servant in the hands of God ! And Jeremiah arguing of his youth : "Ah, Lord Eternal ! I do not know how to speak because I am a child" (Jeremiah 1, 6) ... he was a remarkable prophet ! The absence of eloquence, weakness, youth are objections inadmissible by God !

Of humble origin, Amos was a simple shepherd among other shepherds. He could testify to the power God gives : "I was not a prophet, and I was not a prophet's son, but I kept the cattle and gathered the fruit of the sycamores and the Lord said to me : Go and prophesy to my people Israel" (Amos 7:14, 15). Paul encouraged Timothy : "Let no one despise your youth" (1 Tim 4:12). God said to everyone as before to Gideon : "Go with that strength that you have" (Judgment 6. 14).

So, courage ! To each one of us God has given a mission to accomplish, and he will also give strength and capacity to carry it out, the verse of the day testifies to it ! We may never be Moses, Gideon, Jeremiah, Amos, Timothy, but we each have something to do for God. May it encourage us to note that God has used humble and timid subjects and has led them to work faithfully for him !
