Of the clear decisions

"If we live by the Spirit, let us walk also according to the Spirit" (Galatians 5:25).

Many of us have heard the phrase "walk the Spirit" throughout our lives, but what does that mean, exactly ? I think it speaks of incredible and clear direction and decisions without a doubt. The Holy Spirit gives absolute, clear and detailed instructions to those who walk by him.

The first Christians did not walk in confusion. They were led by the Spirit in all their decisions, in each of their actions, in each of their movements. The Spirit spoke to them and directed them all day and no decision was made without consulting Him. The leitmotiv of the Church, throughout the New Testament, was : "He who has an ear hear !" (Matthew 11:15).

Walking in the Spirit means not to worry, whatever may happen to us. Paul is a good example to follow. There are many examples in the Word of Paul's walk in the Spirit, but let us dwell on two of them.

The Spirit warned Paul that his trip to Jerusalem would result in an arrest and what happened ? "A prophet, named Agabus, came down from Judea ... He took Paul's belt, tied his feet and hands, and said," This is what the Holy Spirit says : The man to whom this belt belongs, Jews will bind him in the same way in Jerusalem, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles" (Acts 21: 10-11). Paul was warned so he could get ready.

If we walk in the Spirit, we must expect God for supernatural deliverance from all Satan's bonds. Paul and Silas were in prison, but the word tells us that "In the middle of the night, Paul and Silas were praying and singing the praises of God" (Acts 15:25). God caused an earthquake and opened the gates of the prison and "the bonds of all the prisoners were broken" (verse 26).

In spite of your circumstances, rise by the Spirit, begin to praise, sing and trust God - and watch him deliver you !
