Of the hope for those who have regrets

"The foolish, by their guilty conduct and their iniquities, had become unhappy" (Psalm 107: 17).

According to the dictionary, a fool is a person who lacks judgment or common sense - who makes silly mistakes. He acts without thinking of the consequences.

What could be more foolish and unthinkable than having sex with a stranger ? The world knows that sexually transmitted diseases are an international problem, yet people continue to contract them all over the world. People simply refuse to be alarmed. And now, many people suffer the consequences of their irrational actions.

A growing number of Christians are paying the price for the insane acts they have committed in the past. Some find themselves in financial chasms because of senseless expenses. Others are stuck in a horrible marriage because they rushed there unwisely.

You may live with regrets, no matter which, but I want to make sure you do not have to live without hope! Do not give up ! God has given you His Word that He will not turn away from fools. "In their distress they cried to the LORD, and he saved them from their distresses ; He sent his word and healed them, He made them escape from the pit" (Psalms 107: 19-20).

The Lord knows that there are certain things that we can not change, words that we have spoken and that we can not take back. But He does not ask us to do penance or make promises. All He asks is that we cry to Him in our despair and He will heal, prolong life and provide supernatural grace.

Be encouraged! God may send someone with His Word for you, or maybe your pastor will bring a message to you. The Holy Spirit may lead you to a particular passage that will bring you healing in your daily reading. But you can rest assured that if you cry to God, He will give you the means to get out of it.
