On the winning side ?
His reign is an everlasting reign and all rulers will serve and obey him. Daniel 7:27
On July 3, 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain declared : “In a war, whichever side wins, there is no winner, there are only losers." Directly or indirectly, World War II caused the deaths of 7 million Germans, and a total of 60 million people. All of those were the losers, plus all of their families who lacked a father, a son, a brother.
However, I know of a war where there were winners. It was delivered by one man, but led to the liberation of millions more over more than 20 centuries. The underdog initially seemed to win, but was ultimately beaten down. The winner is Jesus Christ. He came to Earth, he incarnated. He faced the powers of evil united under the rule of his adversary, the devil. And he defeated them. As a Roman general did in his day, he made a spectacle of his defeated enemies (Colossians 2:15).
With what weapons ? A wooden cross. With what ammunition ? His life given up in sacrifice. With what outcome ? His resurrection and eternal life for all who put their trust in him.
With all due respect to Chamberlain, the camp of Jesus Christ was declared the winner, and there were many winners. But are you one of them ?
