One by one (The story of Mr. Dickens) (continued)

After Todd's invitation to introduce Jesus, Mr. Dickens raised his staff and said : "You must be new here. I'll let you go without hitting you. But did not you hear that no one is allowed to pronounce the name of Jesus here ? Get out of here ! Get out right now !".

Todd says again : "I would like you to believe in Jesus." Mr. Dickens became furious. He ran down the stairs and returned a rifle in his hand. He shouted : "Get out of here or I shoot !".

Todd replied : "I ask you to believe in Jesus. If you want to shoot, you can. But let me pray before shooting." He immediately knelt before Mr. Dickens and prayed : "Lord ! This man does not know you. Save him, please." He prayed again : "Lord, have mercy on Mr. Dickens."

After praying five or six times, he heard a mumble beside him. A moment later he heard Mr. Dickens put down his gun. Soon Mr. Dickens knelt down next to Todd and prayed : "Lord, have mercy on me." In a few minutes this man received the Lord. He took the young man by the hand and said : "In the past, I only heard the gospel. Today, I saw it." Later the young man said : "The first time I saw his face, it was really a sinner's face. Each ride spoke of sin and evil. Then the light shone through his wrinkles and each one seemed to say : God is merciful to me." The next Sunday, Mr. Dickens went to church and later he led dozens of people to the Lord.

In the first two hours after his salvation, Todd led a particularly difficult person to the Lord. The more a new believer opens his mouth early, the better. We must not waste time leading others to Christ.
