Peace is your heritage !
"I leave you in peace." John 14. 27
Paul said : “May the peace of Christ, to which you are called to be one body, reign in your hearts” (Colossians 3:15). Peace is an acquired right with your new birth. Jesus said : “I leave you in peace.” This word "leaves" implies the idea of a donation. It is found over and over again in the pages of a will. Before dying, you can choose to bequeath valuable goods to those you love. In general, we do not leave items that are just good for the trash! However, even though Jesus left us His peace, it does not mean that it will automatically reign in our life. It is a treasure that we must tap into every day. And know that the enemy will do anything to make it disappear. He knows that when you are upset you say and do things that you later regret and that when you have lost your peace it is much more difficult for you to hear the voice of God. Anxiety is often our first reaction to a problem or conflict. At this time, enjoying the peace of Christ may seem disloyal or express a lack of responsibility. We subconsciously think : “If this really concerns me, I must be worried. If it really matters, I have to remain upset and affected." It is wrong to believe that the longer we worry, the better we can overcome conflict. No, the best way to solve problems is to let peace rule our hearts. Solutions emerge more easily and naturally in a peaceful state of mind, while fear and anxiety stand in the way of any solution. Anxiety amplifies the problem, a restless and worried heart is no help. The peace of God is within your reach, on condition that you want it. Don't let the most negative of your emotions control your life. The Bible says : "The fruit of the Spirit... is peace" (Galatians 5:22). Jesus said : “Don't let your heart be troubled !” (John 14.1). This means that you have the option of choosing between peace and inner conflict. Instead, choose peace, for this is your heritage !
