Ezekiel 18:23 – “What I desire, shall the wicked die ?" says the Lord, the Eternal. "Doesn't he change his ways and live ?".

We recently watched a movie that I had seen when I was a young woman and that touched me. This film is the story of young medical students who want to know if there is life after death. To do this, they will do an experiment in turn : they will cause their own death and the other friends will bring them back to life, in particular by means of electroshocks. The experiment works and they return to their bodies. However, soon after these experiences, they experience violent things related to what predominated their life, namely sin. Well, I'm not going to explain the whole movie but in fact, these people were facing their sin and living in torment.

You may think that today I am speaking to the unconverted. No, this message is for you. You were alive and today you are spiritually dead and tormented by your sin. The Word of God tells us that David's bones were wasting away, and he was groaning all day. Why ? Because the hand of God was heavy on him and his strength was no more than dryness like that of summer (Psalms 32:3 and 4). Yet David was God's choice and his child. However, David had sinned. Deep in his heart, I am convinced that he knew he had done wrong but he was silent and “hiding his face”. Somehow he had put his handkerchief over it. David says that as long as he was silent, his bones were wasted and he was moaning all day. He must have been in terrible pain.

How did he get out of this state ? He approached God who does not reject anyone who comes to Him. He made his sin known to him, he did not hide his iniquity. He said : "I will confess my transgressions to the Eternal !". And what did the Eternal do ? He took away the pain of his sin (Psalm 32:5).

Maybe Christians have explained to you, with biblical verses in support, that it was over for you, you no longer need to approach God, that you are good for hell, that God no longer wants of you close to his heart. Maybe it's just what's injected into your thoughts. The Word tells us : “Do not be like a horse or a dumb mule; they are bribed with a bit and a bridle, with which they are adorned, so that they do not come near to you” (Psalms 32:9). Yes, do not be without intelligence, do not let yourself be held back by all these words or thoughts, but draw near to God. It is your good. Talk to Him, tell Him your sin, put a name to it. Do not try to excuse it, to justify it, but confess it to your God and ask Him for forgiveness. Proverbs 28:13 tells us : “He who hides his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses them and forsakes them will find mercy.”

Yes, you will thus obtain mercy and you will live! Now is the time to approach God. May this message be for you like an electric shock which with each shock tells you : “It is time to live again !".
