Praying in the name of Christ (continued)

As Moody started in the work of Christ, he visited a city inhabited by an unbelieving judge. The judge's wife begged Moody to visit her husband, but he replied : "I can not hold a conversation with your husband ; I am only a young Christian without education and your husband is university-trained". But she was not a woman to accommodate a refusal and Moody made the visit. The clerics snickered as the young salesman from Chicago entered the office to speak to the learned judge. The conversation was short : "Sir, said Moody, I can not hold a conversation with you. You are a scholar and I have no education. But I just want to tell you that if you ever convert, I ask you to let me know." The judge replied : "It's understood, young man! If I ever convert, I will inform you, I promise you." The conversation ends there. The clerics sneered even louder when the zealous young man left the office, but the judge was converted in the year.

Moody, who was visiting the city again, asked the judge to explain how it had happened : "One evening, he said, while my wife was at a prayer meeting, I began to feel bad about myself. comfortable and unhappy. I did not know what I had, but finally I retired to my room before my wife returned. I could not sleep that night. I got up early the next day, tell my wife that I would not have breakfast and go down to the office. I gave the clerks leave and locked myself in my private office. I felt more and more unhappy and finally I fell on my knees and asked God to forgive my sins but I did not want to say : "in the name of Jesus" because I did not believe in the atonement. I continued to pray : O God, forgive my sins, but receive no answer.

In the end, desperate, I shouted : O God, in the name of Jesus, forgive my sins" and immediately I found peace". The judge had no access to God until he came in the name of Christ, but as soon as he did, God heard his prayer and answered it.
