Principles of Leadership (2)
“He who walks in the company of the wise becomes wise.” Proverbs 13. 20
Before making any decision, make sure you can live with the consequences of your choice tomorrow! Ask yourself the following question : "Am I capable of making my choice ?" If you're already on the verge of breaking down, how can you take on more ? Sift through your past results. Remember that God first shapes the character of the leader before he builds his ministry, for the accumulation of success increases both physical and moral pressures. If the success of your ministry takes you away from God and your family, do not talk about success any more, but rather admit your defeat ! Judge the realization of your dreams based on the reality of your talent. Let go of the absurd idea that you can do anything if you put enough concentration into it : dogs can, of course, be taught to walk on their hind legs, but they have not been called by God to do so ! So be honest with yourself ! Focus on doing what He has asked you to do and what He has given you talent for. And for all the other things that need to be done, learn to delegate your responsibilities and let your ministry grow on its own ! If the reward is no more than the investment, you are wasting your time, and time is the most precious but scarce commodity you have ! Waste of time is the root cause of many failures, so avoid activities or people that waste your time. Focus on the essentials. Live each day as if it was your last. Be a survivor of defeats. David said : “In the evening come weeping, and in the morning rejoicing” (Psalm 30.6). Surviving today will allow you to prosper tomorrow with the support of God.
