Being a leader is not a privilege, it has to be earned : you must earn your stripes as a leader every day ! And for that you must :

1- Learn to control your impulsivity. Rushed decisions often lead to long-term problems. Listen : “Be quick to listen but slow to speak...” (James 1. 19). Take your time before deciding, don't be blinded by your first impression. Always ask yourself the question : "Is it necessary to make a decision right away ?" Most of the time this is not necessary. Remember that your quality as a leader depends on your past results.

2- Place capable people in key positions. We often give people important responsibilities just because there is no one else available for the job. Which is quite understandable. But what happens when the responsibilities become too great ? To avoid offending the sensibilities of some, you risk clouding your own vision, spoiling the talent of other people in the wrong position, and disappointing those who have faith in your leadership skills and want to see. things get better.

3- Consider all possible solutions before taking responsibility for the final decision. Learn to think a little longer, take the time to get as much information as possible, it will save you from hasty decisions that you will regret tomorrow when a better solution presents itself. What looks good to you today may turn out to be poor tomorrow. Do not be convinced by the same information repeated several times : instead seek the opinion of someone whose wisdom you respect and who has already accomplished what you want to do, especially if your decision should influence the lives of others. people and have lasting consequences.
