Proclaiming with confidence

In a recent devotion, I wrote about the power of supplication prayer. Today I would like to talk about something even more powerful. When you raise up your supplication, you cry to God, asking for mercy, power and deliverance. When this supplication makes its way into your heart and mind, it also makes its way to your faith. You then come out of supplication to enter what I call proclamation.

You will proclaim deliverances - declare what God said in His Word : "Thus saith the LORD."

You will proclaim that God has heard your cry and that it is time to get up, to stop being on your knees. Not to stop praying, but to say to God : "I have laid all this before you. I brought you my grievances a hundred times, just as David did and there are no more complaints in my heart. In their place is a strong and powerful assurance that all goes well with my soul. You do all good things and I will be victorious ! I will conquer ! You are for me, not against me.

"This disease in my body is gone ! My worries about my difficult financial situation and the chaos in which I lived are behind me and I advance into a new kingdom of faith. My prodigal son comes home. My prodigal daughter receives Jesus."

You are going in a new direction, far from the cry of supplication : "Will you help me, please ?" You now firmly rely on His Word, believing that His promises are still true and proclaiming with Trust : "God is faithful to His Word. He will not reject me or abandon me."

Once you come to this proclamation, you begin to pray differently. Just as David prayed : "You are an asylum for me, you guarantee me from distress, You surround me with songs of deliverance" (Psalms 32: 7).
