Protect your call !

"As soon as it was day, he went out and went to a desolate place, and a crowd of people went looking for him, and came to him, so that they would keep him, that he should not leave them. He said : I must also announce to the other cities the good news of the kingdom of God, for that is why I was sent, and he preached in the synagogues of Galilee." Luke 4.42-44

Jesus had to spread the dream of God, to announce good news to the poor, to deliver the captives, to heal broken hearts or to liberate the oppressed... He knew his mission and despite the attachment that people felt for him, he had to continue his path.

"Jesus knew why he was sent."

When we divide ourselves in our choices, it is often because of the influence of people having good feelings towards us. However, each of us has a mission to accomplish and we must learn to keep the course of salvation.

Once, I almost lost God's direction for me, simply because not wanting to hurt people who were dear to me, I preferred not to leave them. On the present moment, we were all delighted, but God looked to my next day and in his grace, through various circumstances, he put me back on the road of my call.

Whatever kindness your brothers and sisters show, stay on course. To fulfill the will of God is, first and foremost, "your calling" and there is neither treason nor lack of love for those you love.

Jesus knew why he had been sent : "I must also announce to the other cities the good news of the kingdom of God, for that is why I was sent" (Luke 4.43).

Follow in his footsteps. Whatever your call, learn to stay the course.

A prayer for today

Lord, help me to always fulfill your will in my life. I know that sometimes friends will want to hold me back, but with respect and gentleness I will continue my journey. In the name of Jesus, amen.
