Purity test

An internet game made it possible, according to the authors, to assess our level of "purity". It consists of around fifty questions, covering the themes of alcohol, sex, hygiene, morals and drugs. According to the homepage, this game could teach us a lot about ourselves. The results tell whether one is holy, pure, normal... or unhealthy, immoral, depraved. Can we trust such a diagnosis ?

But the question of how to be pure is a good one ! Patriarch Job wondered : "How can a man be righteous before God ? How can he who is born of a woman be pure ?" (Job 25.4).

It is easy enough to be satisfied with oneself in front of our fellow men, but in the presence of the holiness of God, it is very different. God himself declares about our moral state : "Together they have become perverted ; there is none that does good, not even one" (Psalm 53.4). The question then arises : "Who will be able to stand in his holy place ?" The answer is : "He who has innocent hands and a pure heart" (Psalm 24,3,4). But who can claim such a state ? No one. God gives us the remedy : faith in Jesus Christ purifies our hearts (Acts 15.9). The resource for cleansing from sin and uncleanness was given when Jesus died on the cross. "If we recognize our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all evil" (1 John 1.9).
