Put your faith in action

"Some men came, bringing him a cripple carried by four of them, but they could not present him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they opened the roof over where Jesus was. the hole they had made, they went down the paralyzed lying on his mat." Mark 2.3-4

This man had 4 friends who were willing to do everything in their power so that their friend would be healed. They had great expectations of Jesus, but even though hope is important, it is not enough and much more is needed. You must understand that you must join the action to your faith by acting on what you have heard or what you have believed.

"Father... thank you for tracing a path when none exists."

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed, "My son your sins are forgiven you". And yet, the man was still on his mat. Why was he still lying there ? Simply because this man lying on his mat, had to do something in order to free his faith. It was not enough that his friends had faith. He got up immediately, took his bed and walked. He acts on the Word to put his faith into action.

Even if your hope is obvious and you have received a divine Word, you must act. Today, do what you have to do to put your faith into action. Do not postpone this, but try to do what you have to do. Faith is active, not passive.

A prayer for today

Father, I thank you for your Word which is infallible, thank you for tracing a path when none exists. Father, today, give me the courage and the wisdom to do what is necessary to put my faith into practice. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
