Racheted, released and reoriented !

"Untie him, and let him go." John 11. 44

When Jesus, standing in front of the tomb of His friend, cried out : “Lazarus, come out !”, the latter, who had been dead for four days, came out with his feet and hands still wrapped in linen bandages. The cloths that made up his shroud did not fall off by themselves the moment Jesus spoke to him. He needed someone to “untie him and let him go”. There is an important lesson for us here. When you accept Christ into your life, He changes the inside of you from top to bottom. On the other hand, certain experiences from your past life can slow you down, keep you bound, and affect how you see yourself. Transformation is a process that requires the help of others, even if the Holy Spirit made the initial inner change. This does not happen overnight, it takes a lot of time. The Bible says : “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away ; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are always “in the process” of becoming a new creature. When Jesus saved you, it was as if you were rising from your grave with your feet and hands still trapped in the shroud of your past. What is this shroud made of ? Negative influences and outlooks, low self-esteem, old habits, destructive relationships... etc. This is why God sent people to love you, to help you break free from all of this in order to realize your full potential. It is important for you to identify these people, to mix with them and to learn in their presence. This is also why you must nurture an intimate relationship with God, in prayer and the reading of the Bible. Through His word, you find out how He sees you. Through prayer, you come to know His heart and see yourself as He sees you. It is then that you begin to live as a truly racheted, released and reoriented person.
