Remember God's blessings
Searching the Scriptures
Bless the Lord, my soul ! May all that is in me bless his holy name ! Bless the Lord, my soul, and do not forget any of his blessings ! It is he who forgives all your faults, who heals all your diseases. It is he who delivers your life from the grave, who crowns you with kindness and compassion. It is he who satisfies your old age well, who makes you rejuvenate like the eagle. Psalm 103.1-5
David here speaks to his soul. He tells her not to be lazy, ungrateful, or indifferent. He blessed the Lord for all His blessings, then gave a list of six special benefits.
1) It is he who forgives all your faults
2) who heals all your illnesses
3) He is the one who delivers your life from the grave
4) Who crowns you with kindness and compassion
5) It is he who satisfies your old age with good things
6) that makes you rejuvenate like the eagle
Surely, if we grasp these six unalterable blessings and graces of the Lord, we will have to act as David did. So let us say to our soul : "Bless the Lord my soul ! All that is in me bless his holy name !"
If this is not what we are doing, it is obvious that we are forgetting its benefits. One of the best ways to never forget them is to enliven our souls and bless the Lord at all times.
Listen to the voice of God
Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Have you grasped all the blessings that God offers you today ?
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, I want to take hold of all your blessings. Like David, may my soul bless you at all times and may not forget any of your blessings !"
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Lord, thank you for these keys you give us in your Word. Thank you for the forgiveness of my sins, for my healing, for my deliverance and for your goodness! Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
