Remember, He chose you... a long time ago !

“God chose us before the creation of the world to be holy and without blemish from Him.” Ephesians 1. 4

It is important that you know when God has chosen you, otherwise you may not fully appreciate your position as a child of God. Understanding that this choice was made “before the creation of the world,” will help you come to terms with some trials you have had to go through or make difficult decisions about your future. “In our union with Christ, we received the part that was promised to us, for God had chosen us in advance, according to his plan” (Ephesians 1.11). You have been individually chosen by God ! You come to this earth with a role to play, a role that He Himself has decided to give to you. If you have survived the storms of life until today, it is because He wants you to fulfill your destiny. This is why you have survived the attacks of the enemy, who seeks only to destroy you, for he knows your importance in the sight of God. You need to understand this truth well for two reasons :

1- if you imagine that God has chosen you for such or such a task according to your long hours of prayer or reading His Word or according to your formidable character, as soon as you falter, as soon as you let yourself go, the enemy will be there to try to convince you that God has abandoned you, that you are no longer “chosen” ! Do not accept this lure !

2- knowing your true status in the family of God will allow you to say, when the day comes : “Even though I have been unfaithful and disobedient to Him, I know that I can always come back to Him at any time, because He chose me despite my faults.” The enemy will do everything possible to undermine this certainty and make you doubt your status in the family of God. He knows that this certainty will take you far in life and will affect the way you live and view things. The prodigal son had this certainty deep inside himself. He said : “Even though I'm in a bad spot, even though I stink like the pigs around me, I know I can go back to my dad's house. Despite my bad choices, he is still my father and he loves me." You too can say the same.
