Renewed energy

"He gives strength to the weary, and increases the energy to him who has no vigor ... Those who expect the Lord will renew their strength ; They will rise with wings, like eagles ; They will run and will not tire, they will walk and never tire." Isaiah 40, 29, 31

"Therefore we are not weary ; But even if our outer man is wasted, yet our inner man is renewed from day to day." 2 Corinthians 4:16

After 13 years of research and development, Solar Impulse 2 became the first aircraft to fly around the world, fueled solely by solar energy !

André Borschberg, co-founder of the project with Bertrand Piccard, exclaimed : "Imagine the energy reserves that increase during the flight ! To succeed in this challenge, it was necessary to make maximum use of all forms of energy efficiency. It is by comparing the experiences of each member of the team and by summing their potentials that we have found the solutions."

For his part, Bertrand Piccard noted : "The solar plane may appear at the center of the project, but beyond the aeronautical dimension, the goal is above all to encourage everyone to be a pioneer in his everyday life."

These two quotations, to the measure of man, make us appreciate, to the measure of God, the immense divine resources available in the face of challenges or trials that seem insurmountable. What happens to unemployment, sickness, or bereavement or family problems, and we are soon without strength! We need a "new energy". How to get it or rather receive it ? By long studies or expensive developments ? No, by trust placed in God alone. He will grant us the forces necessary to rise above men and circumstances as touching as they are.

The Apostle Paul, who suffered so much in his ministry, had experienced it. Our heart, our soul, "our inner man," says he, is renewed day by day, even if our outer body is wasting away. Invoked by God to proclaim the Gospel, he placed his full trust in God in order to find the strength that his ministry demanded. But he was not alone. Christian service is a team effort. Paul always joined a few collaborators, but in his passion for the gospel he also relied on the struggle in the prayer of his brothers and sisters (Phil 1:12, 19).
