Renouncement

"Renounce up seems to be like giving in, abdicating, capitulating, or even giving up on something that you nevertheless desire...

One day, I found myself in a decisive situation where I knew that God was calling me to give up certain things... I was a bit like this rich young man who goes away disappointed when Jesus asks him to give all his possessions to the poor, then to follow him... God wishes that we choose to follow him voluntarily, because he knows - better than ourselves - what is good, beautiful, joyful for our life... I have decide to believe that living for him is better than living for yourself !

If you recognize yourself in this situation, know that God never demands anything from you without giving you the ability to accomplish it. Climb, if only the first step, and he will do the rest for you !" (according to J. Gotte)

- The first step... It is that of faith in Jesus Christ and trust in God. It is to renounce this claim which pushes me to oppose him, to despise his goodness, his wisdom, his power...

- A walk, you tell me ? rather a mountain !

- At first sight, perhaps, but if you allow yourself to be illuminated a little bit by the divine light, the mountain which seemed so high to you will become an accessible step. If you condemn your thoughts and actions of the past, a new life will animate you : the new eternal life, that of Jesus Christ. Climb this first step with Jesus : then denying yourself to follow him will become the goal and the joy of your life.
