Resist discouragement

"Let us not tire of doing good, because if we do not get discouraged, we will reap when the time is right." Galatians 6.9

Many obstacles can prevent us from obeying our call. I wondered over the years whether our worst enemy was procrastination or discouragement. If Satan can not get us to postpone our work until later, he will make sure we give it up completely.

"All that is good and worthy requires stamina and energy."

The Apostle Paul exhorts us to resist discouragement : "Let us not tire of doing good, for if we do not become discouraged, we will reap when the time is right." (Galatians 6.9)

Do you ever get tired of doing what is right ? I think this is the case for each of us. It sometimes seems easier to make the wrong choice than the good one.

Discouragement makes us ineffective. When we are discouraged, we work against our faith.

Discouragement makes me say : "It's impossible." Which is exactly the opposite of : "I know God can do it, because he said ..."

Ask yourself the following questions :

- How do I handle failure ?

- When it's not going the way I want, do I become grumpy ?

- When it's not going the way I want, do I feel frustrated ?

- When it's not going the way I want, am I complaining ?

- Do I usually finish what I'm starting ?

- Where am I on the ladder of perseverance ?

When an artist begins a sculpture, he must patiently carve the stone. It's not enough to hit once to clear all excess material and reveal a masterpiece. Chisel after scissor, it removes all that is useless.

This is also true in life. Nothing really worthwhile happens easily! You persevere and work tirelessly, and little by little your life becomes a masterpiece of the grace of God.

Extraordinary people are really ordinary people with extraordinary determination. Great men do not give up the game.

An encouragement for today

If you are discouraged, do not give up without fighting. All that is good and worthy requires endurance and energy. Persevere !
