Right next to you, to your neighbors (continued)

When I pray about the salvation of my neighbors, like tonight, I know after a while that I have to make a decision. I can not just pray for them. I must decide to go talk to them. Suzette Hattingh says : "Prayer without evangelization is an arrow sent for nothing". While praying, I imagine myself hitting home and asking them if I can talk to them for a few minutes, and then announce the Gospel very clearly, giving them the opportunity to accept Christ if their heart is ready. If he is not, go back and pray for them and leave a loving presence in their house.

When we pray, sometimes the Lord comes to show us what we are able to do with him. The Bible says that the Lord worked with the disciples (Mark 16:20). The Lord is gone, and the Spirit of light lives in us to work and shine through our lives. We are the light, so we need to know if we are currently shining for our neighbors. Do you shine ?

It is not Christian to live somewhere without our neighbors knowing we are. For the day they will need to pray, where will they go ? They will sometimes spend a lot of money, they will go light a candle or they will turn to magicians or fables, while they have someone who has the solution, and who lives a few meters from home ! One of my neighbors was a depressed Christian. We have been a great blessing for her.

I am currently developing my relationship with my neighbor on the left. I suggested to his son to mow my lawn, and I pay him well. Having taken his mobile phone number, we exchange text messages from time to time. This week he asked me to take his daughter to work, not finding anyone to do it. At Christmas, we offered this family a "bread of friends" and a gift card. Soon we will have the opportunity to receive them at home and develop this relationship.
