See the glory of God

Only one thing can allow us to keep moving forward in the difficult times ahead : the understanding of the glory of God. By seizing it, we open the door to a life of victory !

The glory of God is a revelation of the nature and being of our Lord. In the Old Testament, Moses had a glimpse of the glory of God. "And Jehovah passed before him, and cried out, The LORD, the LORD, a merciful and compassionate God, slow to anger, rich in goodness and faithfulness, who preserves his love for a thousand generations, forgive iniquity, rebellion and sin" (Exodus 34: 6-7).

This passage of Scripture is essential for our understanding of who our Lord is. Often, when we think of the glory of God, we think of His majesty and splendor, His power and dominion, or a manifestation among His people, such as exuberant worship. Such things may flow from a vision of God's glory, but it is not about the glory by which He wants us to know Him. He wants us to know His glory through the revelation of His great love for humanity. And that's exactly what He revealed to Moses.

The revelation of God's glory greatly affects those who receive it and pray to understand it. Until that moment, Moses had seen the Lord as a God of law and anger. He was trembling in the presence of God. But this new vision of God's glory led Moses to worship without fear. He saw that God was love and that His nature was goodness and tender mercy !

Attending seminars explaining "how to do it," hearing famous preachers or absorbing books and messages about self-improvement, all that is fine, but the only lasting change comes from a personal revelation of God's glory . Seeing His glory changes the way we live ! It affects our face and our behavior and it makes us more like Him. How wonderful it is to know that God has already given this revelation of Himself in chapter 34 of the Exodus and that it is for us !
