I lie down, and I fall asleep ; I awake, for the Eternal is my support. Psalm 3.6
Serenity
Serenity is simply being calm, and having peace of mind. Quite simply ! YES, but so difficult compared to our busy lives where everything jostles.
The opening verse reminds us that by entrusting ourselves to God, by letting him totally direct our lives, we can acquire this serenity. I read in a book on the Psalms the following comment : “Fools that we are, always to measure difficulties and trials by our own strength and not by that of God. He who is for us if we are his." (Practical Reflections on the Psalms, J.N. Darby, 1958 Edition)
In theory, applying what this author says does not represent any difficulty, because it is quite logical. In practice, how difficult it is to get there! It's a learning ! Then :
– Let us learn to entrust everything to God, our worries, our discouragements...
“Let us learn to trust Him completely.
– Let us learn to surrender ourselves completely to him
And we will be :
– free of any worries.
– in complete safety.
– fully reassured.
By letting the Father act in all areas of our lives, we will be able to declare, like the Psalmist : Eternal ! In the morning you hear my voice ; in the morning I turn to you, and I look. (Psalm 5.4)

Proposed reading : Psalm 36, verses 6 to 11.
36.6 Eternal ! Your kindness reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.
36.7 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God, your judgments are like the great deep. Eternal ! You support men and beasts.
36.8 How precious is your bounty, O God ! In the shadow of your wings the children of men seek refuge.
36.9 They are filled with the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the torrent of your delights.
36.10 For with you is the fountain of life ; by your light we see the light.
36.11 Extend your kindness to those who know you, and your righteousness to those who are upright in heart.
