Shake it and let it go !

“Paul shook the viper in the fire and felt no harm.” Acts 28. 5

While on his way to Rome Paul found himself, following a shipwreck, on the island of Malta. He was picking up branches to fuel the fire his companions had lit on the beach to warm themselves when a viper wrapped itself around one of his arms. The Bible tells us that he shook the viper in the fire like it was the most natural thing in the world ! How do you react to your past ? Do you relive your past sufferings over and over again, rehashing the most painful moments so that you never forget them, or shake them in the fire, as Paul did, to get rid of them once and for all before continuing on to your own. future dictated by God ? Listen again to what Paul once said : “forgetting what is behind and bringing me to what is ahead, I will aim you to win the prize of the heavenly calling of God in Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:13,14). The only place your past can live on is in your mind ! Paul did not forget the past, but he shook it off, threw it behind him and continued his mission. You will never be able to climb the ladder to the top if you persist in lifting the burden of your past disappointments at the same time. His own brothers threw Joseph into slavery, lies led him to an Egyptian prison, but later, when he found himself in the midst of the splendor of Pharaoh's palace, he had no words of hatred, no idea of ​​revenge towards anybody else. it would be. He had no time to waste with such feelings. If you imagine that you will be able to rest once the trials in the midst of which you are struggling have disappeared, you are quite naive! If you are engaged in the work of God you can be sure that you will attract the onslaught of the enemy faster than a magnet ! Satan knows what you will be capable of when the power of God comes over you, and he fears that you will come to find out who you really are and what you can soon accomplish according to God's plan. So shake up your past and its attendant disappointments, then move forward with your Master !
