Soak up the Word of God

Searching the Scriptures

I keep your word in my heart, so that I do not sin against you. Psalm 119.11

Are you tired of committing the same sins over and over again ? In this case, immerse yourself in the Word of God !

Just as a sponge soaked in water comes out of it completely soaked, immerse your mind in the scriptures until it is filled to the brim with the Word. So when you are tempted to do wrong, your first resort will be a response filled with the Spirit and the Word.

If you don't change your habits, you will always get the same result. If you are sick and tired of living in defeat, here is a tried and tested ordinance from the Word of God to restore you : "How shall a young man cleanse his path? By keeping your word." (Psalm 119.9).

"You are already clean because of the word which I spoke to you" (John 15.3). "In order to lead her to holiness after having purified and washed her with the water of the word" (Ephesians 5:26).

"The word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating so far as it separates soul and spirit, joints and marrow ; it judges the feelings and thoughts of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).

"Your word provoked my joy, it made my heart happy, because I am called by your name" (Jeremiah 15.16).

These verses lead to only one conclusion: if you really want to gain victory, you must step into the Word of God and let it permeate you. It is the only way.

Listen to the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Let God give you keys to discover the pearls of his Word.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, teach me to meditate on your Word. May your Holy Spirit enlighten me on the passages that I have difficulty understanding."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you for the riches of your Word. Yours be the kingdom, the power, and the glory, amen !"
