Spend more time in His presence !

“Those who rely on the Lord renew their strength.” Isaiah 40. 31

Most people you meet on the street seem to have a cell phone plugged into one of their ears ! They learned to drive fast, listen to music, converse on the phone and make contracts, all at the same time, or almost ! These days, who has time to wait ? Yet the serene and confident expectation in the presence of God will enrich our spiritual life more than any other experience. You will gain :

1- strength : “Those who rely on the Lord renew their strength. They take flight like eagles. They run without exhausting themselves, they walk without tiring” (Isaiah 40. 31 Segond 21). Are you feeling exhausted today ? “Hope in the Lord ! Strengthen yourself and may your heart be strengthened ! Hope in the Lord !” (Psalm 27. 14).

2- encouragement : do you feel misunderstood and rejected ? Are you depressed to see those who criticize and reject you thrive at who better better ? So listen : “Leave the anger, forsake the fury, do not be angry, that would be wrong, for the wicked will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land” (Psalm 37. 8-9). Don't be depressed ; the last chapter of the story is yet to be read ; in the last chapter, it is we who are victorious !

3- a feeling of liberation : do you now feel a prisoner of circumstances ? Listen : “I had put my hope in the Lord, and he leaned down to me, he listened to my cries. He brought me out of the pit of destruction, out of the depths of the mud, and he established my feet on the rock, he made my steps firm” (Psalm 40. 2-3 Segond 21). So relax. Trust Him more. It will help you get through the oppressive situations.

4- spiritual progress. Do you want to grow in faith ? Listen : “Perseverance must accomplish its task perfectly, so that you are perfectly qualified, without blemish, and that you lack nothing” (James 1. 4 Segond 21). Be patient ! Persevere in your walk without worrying yourself : God is greater than your problem. Your duty is simply to obey and trust Him while leaving Him free to act. His will must always prevail over your desires and aspirations. Also spend more time in the presence of God !
