Spiritual amnesia

But they soon forgot his works. Psalm 106.13

This psalm reminds us that despite the great liberation from slavery in Egypt and the prodigious miracles, such as the opening of the sea to allow them to flee, the people of Israel were not attentive to the works of God in their favor.

When they saw Pharaoh's army destroyed, they sang his praises. But very quickly, in the face of hardship, they forgot its benefits. Yet God had truly blessed and saved them !

The man is forgetful. And our time proves it again. We forget many blessings, and instead of thanking God, we blame him for all the evils that affect us, or we blame him for doing nothing, we do not feel his love.

But not feeling something doesn't mean it doesn't exist !

Two thousand years ago, God intervened in our world to prove his love : God proves his love for us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

For God, there is nothing more important than our eternal fate. This is why Christ suffered the cross, for the forgiveness of our sins, the redemption of our souls. That he accepted the cross to save us is the greatest miracle. He left a sign to remember : Do this in memory of me. (Luke 22.19)

And you, won't you grasp his love by faith, and remember it ?
