Spiritual barrier gestures
Searching the Scriptures
Indeed, the grace of God, source of salvation for all men, has been revealed. She teaches us to give up an ungodly way of life and the lusts of this world. Titus 2:11-12
In order to limit the spread of the Covid, barrier gestures have appeared such as : wearing a mask, sneezing in your elbow, not shaking your hand or using hydroalcoholic gel.
The Bible also speaks of barrier gestures, or limits. They are like fences that you put around your house and property to prevent others from entering.
Thus, when we set limits, we prevent certain things, such as sin, disease, or poisonous people such as Satan or malicious people, from harming us. We draw protective boundaries for body, soul or spirit. As the Bible says in Titus 2:2 : "We renounce what is bad and the desires of this world."
Do you feel like you are overwhelmed and no longer managing your life ? Do you need to be assertive and set clear limits ?
Faced with temptation, Joseph fled (Genesis 39:12).
After falling, David repents and proclaims : "I will not put anything bad before my eyes" (Psalm 101.3).
Do you have bad thoughts, have you been manipulated by people and their actions or words haunt you ? Forgive, reject bad thoughts, then follow this advice from Paul : "Focus your thoughts on all that is true, all that is honorable, all that is righteous, all that is pure, all that is worthy of being. loved, whatever merits approval, which is synonymous with moral quality, and that which is worthy of praise"(Philippians 4: 8).
Listen to the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Ask God what spiritual barrier (s) you need to put in place.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I decide not to be manipulated any more. Help me to come out of toxic relationships or situations. According to your promise in James 4.7, I "submit to God, I resist the devil, and he will flee from me" ! In the name of Jesus. Amen !"
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Thank you, my God, for you never manipulate me and I am perfectly free in you. Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
