"Stand in the place where you are !" Daniel 10:11
Let us now take for ourselves the watchword given to Daniel in the verse of the day :
- Standing in a society where the moral values of Christianity are flouted. Good is called evil, and evil is called good. Easy pleasures, appeals to the senses, sexual deviations, all this is tolerated and even encouraged by the media and many of our fellow citizens.
- Standing at our place of work, assuming our responsibilities and doing our work honestly. It is so easy to value oneself at the expense of others or to discredit a colleague to advance in our professional activity.
- Standing in our family. A Christian family, structured, living in harmony and joy is a powerful witness to the order of creation and the wisdom of God. Standing, even in moments of tension or discouragement. Standing up as the mother of a family, accomplishing day after day the same tasks, often ungrateful. Standing when you want to be somewhere else ...
- Standing in the local church, loving and serving brothers and sisters, even when differences of opinion arise. We all need each other, in the image of each member and every organ of the human body (1 Cor 12: 21).
- Standing to defend the faith. Standing up to maintain firmly what God has revealed to us by His Spirit in the Scriptures. We will be judged on the basis of our knowledge, not our involuntary ignorance.
- Standing in the middle of Christendom, more divided than ever by currents of thought, by opinion leaders who take their own views as the limit of the horizon.
The program is vast! As for Daniel, we will be given wisdom and strength to accomplish it if we listen to the Word : "Do not be afraid, beloved man ; Peace be you ! Be strong, yes, be strong ! And as he spoke with me, I took strength, and said : Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me" (Dan 10:19).
