Towards morning, while it was still very dark, he (Jesus) got it up and went out to go to a deserted place where he prayed. Mark 1. 35
Lord, in the morning you hear my voice, in the morning I turn to you and wait. Psalm 5. 4
Start the day well
Consider, reading the Gospels, the days of Jesus, so full ! Sometimes the crowd surrounding him was so large that it was difficult to approach him. But the verse of the day shows us that he began his days alone, and in prayer. Before choosing his apostles, he even spent a whole night in prayer (Luke 6.12).
King David writes : "Lord, in the morning you hear my voice". As soon as he got up, he turned to the Lord to speak to him. He was addressing God, not man. David continues : "In the morning, I turn to you and wait". At the beginning of his day he prepared himself diligently with prayer, then he waited in an attitude of faith.
How do we start our day ? By taking things as they present themselves, and without being prepared for it, without having spoken to God about it ?
No, let's first let God hear our voice through prayer. Let us explain our needs to him and submit to him the decisions to be made. Then, like David, we can wait in faith, and face the day well armed, confident in the Lord's care.
At the beginning of my professional life, there was a very active company opposite my office, which delivered spare parts. Above the entrance was this motto : "95% of success depends on repair". I have made this motto my own during my years of work. But it is also important in the life of faith! Let's start each day with a moment of sharing with the Lord, listening to his Word and praying to him.
