Stay firm

"As the Holy Spirit said : If you hear his voice, do not sleep in your hearts as in rebellion, in the day of the trial in the wilderness." (Hebrews 3: 7-8)

"Let us keep our confession of faith" (Hebrews 4:14).

Removing from our faith is crucial because the sin that hardens most is unbelief. Israel has hardened their hearts "in rebellion ... In the wilderness" (Hebrews 3: 8). This happened during the test time of Israel, when fierce ordeals had occurred on them. During this difficult time, God's promises seemed to fail them. And when it seemed that the Lord was no longer responding to their cries, they fell on him.

Something similar has happened to many Christians in this generation. I spoke to the believers who were both zealous but now have hardened hearts. These are people who have already walked with the Lord with faithfulness. They believed in His Word, founded their lives on biblical truth and were totally on fire for Jesus. A crisis has come. They shouted to God in their time of desperate need, but their prayers were not answered to their calendar. In anger, they accused God : "You failed me !" Today, these people do not want to hear a word I say.

Others were led by associations with unholy friends. The grace of God is still available to them, his mercy has spread, but over time the pleasures of sin have hardened them.

God helps us in these uncertain days to "take heed" so that each one of us will not be hardened in heart on the day of our trial ! You might think you could never endure your heart. But difficult times and trials are guaranteed to all who follow Jesus ; No one is exempt. Therefore, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not sleep your hearts" (Hebrews 4: 7).

It is now time to go right with God because the present generation has lost the fear of Him.
