Suffering as a Christian

Happy is the man whom you correct, O LORD, and whom you teach by your law. Psalm 94:12

Sometimes God allows Christians to suffer so that they can learn the secret of obedience. The psalmist said : "Before I was humbled, I went astray, now I conform to your word" (Psalm 119: 67). Only after great sorrow and affliction did David learn obedience to God.

My dear Christian friend, if you suffer today from God and have asked a thousand times : "Why ?", Please, be patient and calm down before God, and listen to the calm little voice. Bow under his loving hand and recognize that above the clouds the sun is shining. God has a purpose and a design for your life, and what happens to you is for your good.

Prayer for the day

The man in me says : "Why, Lord ?" Every time I have to endure suffering - but the Spirit who filled me, who was born again, said : "I trust you, Father."
