You are lights in the Lord. Behave like children of lights !... Discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-10
So pay close attention to the way you behave : do not behave like fools, but like wise men : redeem the time, for the days are bad. Ephesians 5:15,16
Sunday Christians ?
From his resurrection on Sunday, Jesus found himself in the midst of his disciples gathered in the "upper room" : a place of communion where the Lord was present (John 20:19,26). Since then, many Christians are faithful to this meeting, on the Lord's Day. But let us ask ourselves the question : Is this the only day of the week that I live near my Lord ?
Christianity is not a process linked to a few solemn occasions. It is a life of personal and daily relationship with Jesus, my Savior and Lord under the benevolent gaze of God my Father.
Let’s not be Sunday only Christians. Every day we are called to grow "in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18). Then our whole life, even in the most ordinary occupations, will be a praise to God and a testimony for Christ.
Christianity is not either a set of religious habits accompanied by some good works that we would impose on ourselves in the daily stress of our activities. It is first and foremost a way of being, rather than a way of doing. Invited to proclaim "the praises of him who called us from darkness to his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2.9), the Christian, asking the help of his Lord, will seek to fulfill his mission every day with joy. Not only his words, but first of all his behavior, will be able to reproduce a little the moral qualities of Jesus : dedication, obedience to God, humility, patience, love for the neighbor.
