Support each other as a family

Saturday April 24, 2021

Support each other, and if either of you has a reason to complain about the other, forgive each other. Just as Christ forgave you, forgive yourself too. Colossians 3:13

Love... endures everything. 1 Corinthians 13. 4, 7

Support each other as a family

Some people who are very kind in society have a hateful character in their families. Always in a good mood with their friends or at work, they keep quiet or speak harshly in their homes. Always ready to help out, they don't want to be disturbed by those who live under the same roof. Patient in their work, at home they get angry at the slightest annoyance.

Where does this double attitude come from ? On the outside, we want others to think highly of us. On the other hand, at the house where everyone knows each other, we don't have to play a role ; we show ourselves as we are. Capable of being kind to strangers, shouldn't we be all the more kind to those who love us ?

Christian friends, many of us may relate to this description. Let us understand that this attitude is false and hypocritical. But "God wants the truth to be at the bottom of the heart" (Psalm 51.8) and does not approve of this two-faced behavior.

Do not believe that peace and serenity will reign spontaneously in our home. Each member of the family either ask God to reflect in it the characters of our Savior, his patience, his openness to others, his listening, his compassion... This will help us to support each other, even if it is not. always easy. "This is what you were called to, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example that you might follow in his footsteps" (1 Peter 2:21).
